Items and Media Sub-tabs (Resource Manager)

The Items and Media sub-tabs show details about items, such as barcode, status, condition and home location. You can manage the items/media at your location.

Manage the Items Sub-tab/Media Sub-tab

  1. Select Catalog > Resource Search.
  2. Search for a resource.
  3. From the search results, click Details next to the correct description record.
  4. If the resource is hardware or textbooks, click the Items sub-tab; if it is software, click the Media sub-tab.
  5. Use the following table to complete your task:
    If you want to… Then…
    View digital contentClick View iconto view a file or URL related to an item.
    Include items in a container

    Click . The Update Included Items page appears. See Update included items.

    Update assignmentsClick . The Update Assignments page appears. See Assign Software.
    Create a help ticket

    Click . The Create Help Ticket page appears. See Create Help Ticket.

    Edit an item

    Click . The Edit Item / Media page appears. See Add/Edit Items and MediaAdd/Edit Items and MediaAdd/Edit Items and Media

    Edit components

    Click . The Components page appears.

       
    Update digital content

    Duplicate a resource

Manage Unbarcoded Items

You can add unbarcoded items to a resource description with an instructional classification that makes barcoding the items optional. In those instances, you can add or remove barcodes, mark them lost or found, and delete them from the Items sub-tab of the resource description record.

  1. Select Catalog > Resource Search.
  2. Search for a resource.
  3. When you find the resource you want, click Details. From the search results, click Details next to the correct description record.
  4. From an item’s resource details, click the Items sub-tab.
  5. From the Group by drop-down, select Status.
  6. Use the following table to complete your task:
    If you want to…Then…
    Remove barcodes from items
    1. Next to Available, click Show More.
    2. Click Remove Barcodes.
    3. In the Quantity to Unassign field, enter the number of items to unbarcode.
    4. Type the first barcode number.
    5. Click Remove.
    Assign barcodes to items
    1. Next to Available, click Show More.
    2. Click Assign Barcodes.
    3. In the Items to Barcode field, specify how many items to barcode.
    4. Either type the first barcode number, or let Destiny automatically assign the next available barcode.
    5. To print labels, select the Print labels checkbox.
    6. Complete other fields as needed.
    7. Click Assign.
    Mark items as Lost
    1. Next to Available, click Show More.
    2. Click Lost.
    3. In the Items to mark Lost field, type the number of items to mark lost.
      Note: You can only mark unbarcoded items “lost” this way.
    4. Click Mark Lost.
    Delete items
    Note: If you are a district user, use the district-level instructions.
    1. Next to the Available or Lost group, click Show More.
    2. In the Items without barcodes section, click.
    3. In the Items to delete field, type the number of items you want to delete.
    4. Click Delete.
    Mark Lost items Found
    1. Next to Lost, click Show More.
    2. Scroll to the Items without barcodes section, and then click Found.
    3. In the Items to make Available field, type the number of items found.
    4. Click Found.

Delete Unbarcoded Items (District Level)

As a district user can delete unbarcoded material at the district level.

  1. Select Catalog > Resource Search.
  2. Search for a resource.
  3. When you find the resource you want, click Details.
  4. From an item’s resource details, click Items.
  5. From the Group by drop-down, select Site.
  6. Find the group you want to work with, and then click Show More.
  7. In the Items without barcodes section, click.
  8. In the Items to delete field, type the number of items you want to delete.
  9. Click Delete.
