Catalog (Resource Manager)

Destiny Resource Manager lets you track all your resources in one place. Properly planning how to organize your district's valuable resources and deciding what information to record for each one ensures smooth resource management.

Resource Manager uses templates. Each template represents a specific resource type, and together they all form the template tree. Resource templates let you set the exact information you want to document about each type of resource.

  • Templates are arranged into hierarchical groups and subgroups, with each template representing a specific resource type, such as textbooks, athletic and computer equipment.
  • Resource types are resources that are similar and share certain information. For example, tablets, laptops and routers are all types of computer equipment. Because there are some differences in the data you want to capture for these resources, create subgroups for them in the Computer Equipment template. Subgroups inherit characteristics of the group, known as the parent, above it.
  • Resource description records contain common information about a particular resource, such as the manufacturer, model and description. For tablets, you might want to track operating system, screen size, Internet connectivity, processor model and speed.
